Merchant Onboarding Trainee

Job brief

We are seeking Merchant Onboarding Trainee who will be responsible for the seamless onboarding of new merchants onto our platform. This role involves fieldwork on a daily basis, ensuring effective communication, providing support, and resolving any issues that may arise during the onboarding process.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage with potential merchants, explain the onboarding process, and assist them in completing the necessary documentation and requirements.

• Conduct regular field visits to merchant locations for in-person meetings and demonstrations of our platform’s features and benefits.

• Establish and maintain strong relationships with new and existing merchants, providing support throughout the onboarding process.

• Utilize our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to manage and track merchant onboarding activities

• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on onboarding progress, highlighting any bottlenecks, challenges, or areas for improvement.

• Address and resolve any issues or concerns raised by merchants during the onboarding process, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.

• Collaborate with the sales and operations teams to streamline processes

• Provide training sessions to merchants on using our platform effectively

• Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and market demands

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field OR relevant work experience
• A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in merchant onboarding, relationship management, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of payment industry regulations, including KYC requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong ability to build and maintain relationships with merchants- multi-lingual applicants will definitely be considered on priority(Hindi, English, Gujarati, Marathi etc.)
• Proficiency in design thinking principles and methods
• Strong project management and problem-solving skills, ability to adapt to constantly changing processes.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
